Eyyunni<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-contrast-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-9d8e7e8ae9c799065cbb2b06e105972e wp-block-paragraph\">Dr. Uma Eyyunni came to the U.S with a masters degree in Ear, Nose, Throat surgery (ENT) from Osmania Medical, Hyderabad, India in 1976. She pursued further training in ENT at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, Pa . After a successful solo practice for 16years in Martinsburg, WV, she moved to a part time office practice in St. Augustine, Fl.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-contrast-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-546d22106969ccc70fb6836ffe8ea1a3 wp-block-paragraph\">Poetry and literature along with music have been Uma\u2019s deep passions since high school days. Married to Dr. Ram Eyyunni, a General Surgeon, her interests were nurtured, resulting in publication of four poetry books in Telugu, her mother tongue. Many of these lyrics are rendered in beautiful audio CDs by well known Indian artistes. Besides poetry, Uma has written lyrics for many dance ballets in the Indian languages of Telugu, Hindi &amp; Sanskrit. She also has published English poetry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-contrast-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-97668fcfe8bfbf0d86d4f4de994ec9d1 wp-block-paragraph\">Her hobbies include music, reading and voluntary work . She also mentored many elementary school children as part of a program in West Virginia, to prevent the high school drop out rate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-contrast-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-dd9cad428143e9fb27d2c11a0fee2509 wp-block-paragraph\">She served the community. both Indian and American by significant participation in the American Association of University Women, local chapter, a patron member of American Association of Physicians from India, and several other local organizations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-contrast-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-cf4891f72e4788b12dc355172b03323a wp-block-paragraph\">With a deep determination to bring social awareness and compassion towards the mentally challenged, Uma has crystallized her medical experiences into novels in fiction form, with a reality base. She published her first novel in English in 2004 with title \u201cI Want My Son Back &#8211; A Mother\u2019s Cry\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-contrast-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-4f3b5c835c4aff55997f480d41de723c wp-block-paragraph\">Now an additional story of \u201cWhere Do We Belong\u201d is incorporated in the original and is being republished as \u201cWhere Do We Belong &#8211; A Mother\u2019s Cry Continues&#8230;\u201d. This addition deals with the challenges of disposition of the mentally ill. It also mentions some of the resources and facilities that are available in Florida, where she lives now. Enjoying the Nashville, TN, with her husband Dr .Ram Eyyunni, Uma has several novels in the making, fiction mostly originated somewhere deep down from a realistic experience. They have two grown children Sreekar Eyyunni and Dr. Swathi Eyyunni. Both the Drs.
